Mommy is a little behind with her blog updating duties! With the Holidays, work, unusual amounts of snow and a baby that has had a hard month being sick, we've been a little busy!
6 months
Lila had an eventful month 6! At her 6 month appointment she was in the 97th percentile for height and 30th for weight. She saw her first snow, testing out crawling and Christmas. She knew just what to do with all those Christmas presents and had a big time ripping open the wrapping paper. Santa was good to Lila, she was such a good girl this year ;)
Lila started to get stranger anxiety around the Holidays which made visiting friends and family interesting! At daycare she would cry if anyone new came into the room and at home she only wanted to be with Mommy or Daddy. There were also a few nights in there where only Mommy would do. We think we've gotten over that now!
7 months
By far month 7 was the most active from a developmental standpoint! She learned to crawl (and is quite fast), pulls herself up to standing and loves taking walks around the house holding on to Mommy and Daddy's hands. She has just started to walk herself around the coffee table and couch. She is babbling more and more. We are half-way to saying Dadda- she exclaimed "Da-ba" one day, exciting Daddy! She also loves saying "a-boo" which we interpret to mean I love you! She has also started kissing Mommy (full on open mouthed slobber filled kisses on Mom's cheek) :) And...her first little tooth finally popped through after months of teething agony!
She is trying all sorts of new foods, especially loves bananas and peach yogurt. We are up to 3 meals of "solids" a day. Her favorite book is "The Peace Book" by Todd Parr. She especially loves the page that says "Peace is having enough pizza for everyone", grabbing the picture each time we get to the page, which proves she is Daddy's girl!
Poor baby had a rough month with a few ear infections and a respiratory infection. She is finally on the mend and has been a brave little girl through it all.
She also experienced 2 blizzards in January/Feb, the most snow DC has ever seen!
8 months
Lila is 8 months today! We are excited to see what new adventures are in store this month!
Pictures to follow...

Lila December
December has been an exciting month! I am sitting up without any help and am almost crawling. I can get up on my hands and knees, I can move backward and turn in a circle but I am still trying to figure out how to move forward.
I started solid foods- my first food besides cereal was sweet peas. I liked the peas, but did not like green beans, squash, sweet potatoes or carrots. They taste funny and feel weird in my mouth. Finally Mommy gave me bananas and mmmm they were good. I'm not sure if I like apple sauce yet, but I think I will give it another try.
Mommy swore she wouldn't post pictures with food all over my face, but once it happened she couldn't resist.
I saw my first snow!
Aren't I cute in my winter hat?

Thanksgiving
Lila had a great Thanksgiving! She started the day on a nice walk with Mommy and Daddy. It was a little cold out, so we wore our pink bear hat. This one is SO much better than that black cat hat Mommy tried to get her to wear at Halloween.
Loved on Daddy
Then Grandma came over and played with Lila and Mr. Turkey.
Mmmm, he tastes good!
Then it was off to Great Grandma Marge and Great Grandpa Frank's house for Thanksgiving dinner. There were about 20 friends and family to see!

5 Months
I turned 5 months on November 10th!
I have started to try and sit up- look Mommy was helping me...
and then she let go! Woah! I am still learning how to balance.
Mommy says I am very curious. I don't know what that means but I know I like to look at catalogs! So many things to see!
My bounce-a-roo is so much fun!
Splash! I have a big time in the bath!
Being outside is still on of my favorite things and I love going on walks.

Happy Halloween!
Mommy, Daddy and Lila had a date to pick out pumpkins. Lila was checking herself out in the mirror, dressed for the occasion.
We each got a pumpkin, isn't her little one cute? We got one this size last year for her too when we just found out we were pregnant. The squirrels stole it off our porch and we found it half eaten in a bush! So this year, we kept baby pumpkin safe inside.
We didn't dress her up on Halloween, but we did try to put this black kitty hat on her. She was NOT enthused! We tried every trick in the book to get her to smile and she wasn't cracking one no matter what! She's sticking to her guns already...
Halloween day came...she was really interested in those pumpkin socks!
Happy First Halloween Lila!
